‘Joust!’ comes to Tampa as King Arthur brought to life in new musical

The Patel Conservatory at the David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts will present Joust!

A Mighty Medieval Musical, performed by 40 students in grades two through four, Feb. 27-March 1 and March 6-8.
In this unique tale of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, weapons are replaced by musical instruments, making for musically uproarious fun.

Joust Medieval musical Patel ConservatoryThe show is a medieval marvel, complete with jousting knights, delightful damsels and court jesters that will capture the interest of audiences of all ages.

“Besides being a fun and entertaining production, the show has a lot to teach about history, music, relationships and dreams,” said Director Audrey Siegler. “Cast members will learn to play several musical instruments throughout the process of creating the show, which offers them lots of opportunities to try new things and learn new skills while telling a creative and enjoyable story.”

Regularly priced tickets for Joust! A Mighty Medieval Musical in the TECO Theater are $10-$15 and may be purchased by calling 813.229.STAR (7827) or 800.955.1045 outside Tampa Bay, in person at the Straz Center Ticket Office or online at www.strazcenter.org.

Show times are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 and 7 p.m.
