Journalist’s faith prompts ‘rude’ Richard Dawkins walk out on interview, rants on twitter

“Richard Dawkins is just as rude in person as he is on Twitter, apparently” begins the New Republic article describing the recent behavior of the popular atheist.

New Statesman’s Emad Ahmed revealed last week that the atheist writer “decided to angrily walk away from our scheduled interview after I confirmed my beliefs in the revelations of the Islamic faith, calling my views ‘pathetic.’”

On Sunday, Dawkins took to Twitter to insult the journalists and people of faith.

I left when he said Muhammad rode a winged horse. A non-timewasting journalist needs at least SOME grasp of reality. http://www.newstatesman.com/politics/religion/2015/12/my-year-islamophobia   — @RichardDawkins

The writer’s faith appears to be aligned with Dawkins but his tactics are still a turnoff: “I happen to share Dawkins’s opinion of religion generally, and of winged horses specifically,” the author notes.

“What’s truly pathetic, though, is his excuse for walking out on Ahmed. Dawkins has debated creationists, cardinals, and rabbis, but he refuses to be interviewed by a journalist who also happens to be a devout Muslim?…His reasoning, as has become increasingly true of late, doesn’t hold up to scrutiny. After all, Dawkins has submitted to such an interview before, in which the journalist likewise admits to believing that Muhammad flew to heaven on a winged horse.”

Dawkins has taken the time to detail the truth about why he terminated the interview. Just google it, or go on his twitter. He was greenwalded.
