Joss Whedon talks post ‘Avengers 2’ Hulk film update, ‘would be very very hard’
Joss Whedon recently promised more “death” while talking about “Avengers 2,” this sequel to the blockbuster. Whedon is always asked about other projects, spinoffs and this time the “Cabin in the Woods” director addressed some Hulk rumors.
Worst Preview published the update, a reboot featuring the Hulk and if it’s possible.
“Yes,” he answered, “but it would be very, very hard. The problem is he is a very popular character, but he’s not a superhero. Half of him is a superhero, half is a werewolf. You can’t structure it like a superhero movie.”
Whedon praised Mark Ruffalo who played Bruce Banner/Hulk in “Avengers” after the two failed film projects which starred Eric Bana and Edward Norton.
“The one thing you have in your favor would be Mark Ruffalo. But right now I don’t know if they have plans to do that or not, because he works so well as part of a greater whole. By himself, it’s tough.”
The Avengers 2 opens in theaters May 1, 2015
