Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska featured in own ‘Alice Through the Looking Glass’ poster
Walt Disney Studios has revealed new posters for Alice Through the Looking Glass featuring stars Johnny Depp and Mia Wasikowska with cool clock pieces.
Disney tweeted the images Friday morning, kicking off some D23 promotion:
“It’s time for a little madness! Check out the teaser posters for ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS! In theaters May 27! —
The Muppets director James Bobin takes over for Tim Burton as Depp and Wasikowska will reprise their roles as the Mad Hatter and Alice. Sacha Baron Cohen joins the cast as the antagonist named Time. Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Toby Jones, Paul Whitehouse, Timothy Spall, Barbara Windsor and Martin Sheen also star.
Previous reports noted that “Disney does not view as a prequel, but rather using the time travelling theory for her to be on a quest to help the Mad Hatter, the focus of this film. As noted, Time is the villain leading to the assumption that the sequel will focus on something about a time distortion that Alice and the Cheshire cat have to fix. This movie is going to deviate from the story line of the original movie no doubt by exploring what would be ‘different parts of Underworld’…”
Also new to this film is Rhys Ifans (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Amazing Spider-Man) as the Mad Hatter’s father Zanik Hightopp, and Ed Speleers (Downton Abbey) as James Harcourt.
Alice Through the Looking Glass arrives in theaters on March 27, 2016.
