John Schmouth, Roland Deslauriers identified as victims in Massachusetts plane crash
Officials have identified two men killed in a small plane crash at a municipal airport in southeastern Massachusetts.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s office says John Schmouth, age 69, of Brockton, and 61-year-old Roland Deslauriers, of Bridgewater, are believed to have been on board when the plane crashed Sunday morning at Taunton Municipal Airport.
A spokesman for the prosecutor’s office says family members have been notified but the identifications won’t be confirmed until autopsies are complete.
“Although next of kin notifications have been made and investigators believe they have identified both victims, the confirmed identities of the two victims will not officially be known until the Medical Examiner’s Office conducts autopsies on the remains,” said spokesman Gregg Miliote in a statement.
Schmouth was the pilot and plane crashed during take off. The fire consumed the plane, including the identification, which has made details delayed.
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating along with state and local officials.
Taunton is about 40 miles south of Boston.

I worked with Roland for about a year and he was a great person such a shame to see someone like him go. RIP my friend
