John Ryan, Maryland man dead in trunk of car, was shot to death says report
Maryland State police homicide investigators continue their investigation into the murder of a Fredick man, John P. Ryan, who was found dead in the trunk of his car last Monday.
Tuesday’s medical examiner report revealed Ryan died from two gunshot wounds to the head.
Ryan, age 37, was reported missing on November 29 by his wife who saw him last on the 27th. Police located his 2007 Lexus in a parking lot.
Inside the trunk, with Ryan’s body, was a pound of marijuana and an undisclosed amount of cash.
“The investigation remains active, but we were not releasing any new information,” Maryland State Police spokesman Greg Shipley said Tuesday and confirmed with The Global Dispatch in a phone communication.
“The case is indeed being classified as a homicide, Bruce Goldfarb, a spokesman for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore said.
Ryan regularly traveled throughout Maryland, Virginia and the DC areas for his work.
Ryan’s death is listed as part of 5 murders within a week or so: Cesar Smith was tortured and stabbed to death by people who forced their way into his apartment and two days later, a 34-year-old man was purposely struck by a car and killed.
WJLA also lists Jesse Campos was killed by intruders with an unidentified man murdered in a separate event.
Anyone with information about Ryan’s disappearance or death may contact state police Cpl. Jonathan Martin or Sgt. Richard Bachtell at 301-644-4151.
