John Ortiz, Shea Whigham join ‘Kong Skull Island’
Two more actors are joining the cast for Kong: Skull Island as Deadline is reporting that John Ortiz and Shea Whigham are the latest to sign on.
The story is about a man (Tom Hiddleston) who travels to the mythical island and home of the king of the apes. A team of explorers ventures inside what they find to be a treacherous island. The story is said to honor the King Kong lore but in a different time period.
Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and John Goodman also star in the project, which is expected to go into production this fall with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts.
Ortiz co-starred on Rake and just wrapped a role in Zach Braff’s remake of Going In Style. He will next be seen in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs and Disney’s The Finest Hours. (Deadline)
Whigham is coming off five seasons of Boardwalk Empire and a stint on ABC’s Agent Carter. He will next be seen in HBO’s upcoming comedy series Vice Principals.
Skull Island also stars Thomas Mann, Toby Kebbell, Corey Hawkins, Jason Mitchell and John C Reilly.
Kong: Skull Island is set to arrive in theaters on March 10, 2017.
