John Horton arrested for DUI in Kentucky, now charged with Colorado murder
A Florida man arrested of driving under the influence was stopped by a Kentucky State Police (KSP) trooper on Friday and then charged on Saturday with a murder in Colorado after he was researched in the national crime database.
John Horton, 31, of Jacksonville, Florida, sits in a jail in Caldwell County, Kentucky for the DUI changes Lyon County, but identified by the FBI, via the FBI’s National Crime Information Center (NCIC) database, Saturday morning that Horton is wanted for murder by the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado.
The KSP stated “the FBI automatically notifies any agency who had recently run Horton through the database” and confirmed they have served Horton with a warrant for that murder.
Arapahoe County Sheriff deputies will be in Kentucky soon to continue their investigation.
It’s unclear when the murder in Colorado happened.
