John Carpenter unsure of ‘Darkchylde’ film

In an interview with Digital Spy, John Carpenter promoting his upcoming film “The Ward”, the director spoke briefly about the possible film adaptation of Randy Queen’s comic book: “Darkchylde”.

“There’s a comic book that was very popular called Darkchylde. It’s a very interesting story and I’ve been working on that. I’m kind of working on a horror-western. I don’t know if it’s going to work or not. Here and there, this and that…”

Back in November, it was widely reported that Carpenter was working on test footage, saying: ““Randy Queen’s hijacked angel, Ariel Chylde, is the best young female character since Laurie Strode in Halloween. Bringing Ariel and her dark mysteries to life should be quite an adventure for us all.”

So Darkchylde fans may have to come back to reality as Carpenter’s apprehension could result in a direct to DVD project.
