John Barrowman set for ‘Arrow’ season 3 as regular, tweets new photo

Fans of Arrow were swept up into the season 2 battle royale as Team Arrow managed to save Starling city from Slade’s attack. The reprocussions are certain with Oliver Queen’s sister, Thea (Willa Holland) proving to be key in the season ahead.

Arrow (Stephen Amell) will now see his sister team-up with her biological father Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) who is confirmed to be a regular for season 3. In fact, THR, Barrowman’s role was teased by Amell in a new tweet and photo (check it out below.)

The Dark Archer and Thea’s bonding with Malcolm adds even more intrigue to the complex world of Arrow.

Fans have praised the finale and the progression of Oliver’s character and his life as the vigilante. Screen Rant notes “It is no easy task for a series to essentially alter the thinking of its protagonist and then demonstrate the progression of it – in an entertaining fashion – throughout an entire season, but the Arrow writing crew managed to do just that.”

Barrowman joins an ensemble that includes Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Colton Haynes, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne and Emily Bett Rickards.

Arrow will return in the fall at 8 p.m. Wednesdays.
