Joe Biden third in Iowa poll and he’s not running

While Hillary Clinton has a commanding lead in Iowa over Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders, according to the latest CNN/ORC poll, Vice President Joe Biden as jumped ahead of the other rivals and moved into third place.

Sadly for those candidates, Biden is currently running for the office.

The former New York Senator is at 50% of Democratic Iowa caucus-goers, with Sanders trailing at 31 percent. Biden came in third at 12 percent ahead of former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley and former Virginia Sen. Jim Webb, who each polled 1 percent. Former Rhode Island Gov. Lincoln Chafee had less than 1 percent.

The polling report notes that “The slightly-tighter-than-national race reflects two broad divides among Iowa’s Democratic voters: a gender gap and an ideological split. Among women, Clinton tops Sanders by more than 30 points, 58% to 26%. Among men, the two are even: 38% back Clinton, 37% Sanders. Likewise, among the party’s moderates, 57% back Clinton, 21% Sanders, while liberals split 46% for Clinton to 41% for Sanders. ..”

If Biden stays out, his supporters state that “…their second choice candidate, 58% would back Clinton, 32% Sanders…”

Sanders and Clinton are split on many of the issues, like understanding the problems of the nation, but Sanders has a notable lead on honor and trustworthiness.
