JJ Abrams talks ‘Star Wars Episode VII,’ says ‘It’s wildly surreal’ but ‘too early’ for specifics
“Star Wars” fans now have a director to target for the praise or criticism of the franchise as JJ Abrams will add the saga to his growing resume.
Speaking to E! Online on the red carpet of the Producer Guild Awards this weekend, Abrams talked about his reaction to being chosen as the director for “Episode VII”
“It really is an incredible thing,” Abrams just told me on the red carpet at the Producers Guild of America Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Even more so, he said, “It’s wildly surreal.”
When asked about his plans for the film , Abrams unsurprisingly dodged the question:
“It’s obviously way too early to talk specifics,” he said. “But I’m excited to actually start it.”
Abrams was honored at the event with the Norman Lear Achievement Award, which was presented by his Alias star, Jennifer Garner.
“Star Wars: Episode VII” to hit theaters in 2015.
