‘Jessica Jones’ wins first Emmy for Main Title Music
Part of the Emmy Awards focuses on the Creative Arts, and Marvel’s Jessica Jones took away its first award: a victory in the category for Best Original Main Title Theme Music.
The Netflix show beat out Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The Whispers,The Night Manager and two other Netflix series Sense8 and Narcos.
The theme song is by Sean Callery, who has also done music for Elementary, Bones and 24. Give the music a listen below.
Jessica Jones centers on Krysten Ritter stars as Jessica Jones, a former superhero who opens her own detective agency. Mike Colter, Rachael Taylor, Wil Traval, Erin Moriarty, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss, and David Tennant also star in season one.
Following the success of Daredevil, the network’s first adaptation of Marvel’s comic books, Jessica Jones was even darker and intense with less “superhero” feel and more crime drama.
The show has been renewed for a second season, which, according to Netflix COO Ted Sarandos, will not debut until 2018 at the earliest, after The Defenders released in 2017
Colter played Luke Cage and will star in his standalone series set to debut this week.
