Jesse Ventura for President? ‘Off the Grid’ host suggests possibility
Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura is a little more than hinting at throwing his hat into the Presidential ring, according to two interviews he gave earlier this month.
In an interview with WCCO-TV in Minnesota, the 64-year-old Ventura said he is seriously considering running for president…in the Libertarian Party. “If I decided to run, I would go seek the Libertarian nomination,” he said.
The final decision would be next March, the ORA TV host said.
In addition, in an interview with liberal radio host, Alan Colmes, when asked “Who do you like?”, Ventura said, “None of them”. He also said he hopes Donald Trump destroys the Republican Party and Bernie Sanders destroys the Democratic Party the way he says Pat Buchanan destroyed the Reform Party.
When the point of Gary Johnson running for President on the Libertarian ticket, Ventura said, “So might I’. Ventura says he would team up with the former New Mexico Governor and 2012 LP candidate.
Ventura says the Libertarians have contacted him. However, the former Governor says he will use the party for ballot access and will not join the party.
“If I run I will challenge the American people to make history with me and elect the first President since George Washington, the father of our country, that doesn’t belong to a political party.”
