Jennifer Lawrence explains ‘X-Men’ return, talks Michael Fassbender, James McAvoy coming back
The fate of a lot of mutants is up in the air in X-Men: Apocalypse, the subject of a recent EW cover story, and Jennifer Lawrence tops the list as the actress has become a hot Hollywood commodity.
Lawrence expressed worry about whether or not she would return or not in upcoming installments.
“I would love to come back. I love the fans and I love the character. But then you realize how important your year is, like how important three months out of your year is. I don’t know. I shouldn’t be that honest.”
Then The Hunger Games star pointed out a flaw in the Fox negotiations and commented on the other two prequel actors, such as Michael Fassbender (Magneto) and James McAvoy (Professor Xavier).
“Fassbender and McAvoy and I were all talking, like, ‘Will you come back?’ ‘I dunno.’ ‘I’ll come back, if you come back.’ Fox should be terrified because the deal we made was like if one of us doesn’t come back, none of us are.”
Lawrence has been honest about her disdain for the blue body paint required for Mystique: “You go in and you realize you’re rock bottom and like this sucks and it could not suck more”
Despite some harsh criticisms from fans and critics, X-Men: Apocalypse opened strong at the box office, earning over $65 million in the first weekend, and now eclipsing $280 million globally (as of Wednesday) – Source
