Jenn Gotzon talks ‘Doonby’ ‘Alone Yet Not Alone’ and even Ron Howard, ‘Frost/Nixon’
Actress Jenn Gotzon has been building a long list of films on her resume since her breakout opportunity in Frost/Nixon. Working on faith-based and family films, Gotzon stars in Doonby, God’s Country, Alone Yet Not Alone, just to name a few.
Jenn broke away from her busy schedule to speak to The Global Dispatch/Dispatch Radio about these films and more.
“…a hit in your gut at the end of the film that really allows you to walk out of that movie theater going ‘Wow, I had no idea the difference I can make in someone’s life’ Gotzon says of Doonby.
She explains Doonby a bit more, co-starring with “the charming” John Schneider (The Dukes of Hazsard, Smallville, October Baby) as the “wild child” Laura.
Gotzon says it has “one of the most provocative endings ever in a film.”
She discusses her motivations to choose roles, like Laura, and how they work through the real challenges of life.
Alone Yet Not Alone is a great film, earning an Oscar nomination for Best Song before having the nod rescinded, and Gotzon discusses how the publicity can work to increase attention for the film.
Gotzon discusses several of her other films, Hollywood making faith inspired films and the reflects on her early role in Frost/Nixon, praising director Ron Howard.
“…One of the most amazing directors because of his legacy in Hollywood and his humble, humble, quiet sweet heart,” Gotzon says of Howard before detailing filming on the set.
