Jamie Herrell crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2014

The nineteen year old beauty and dancer from Cebu City became the 14th Miss Philippines Earth upon being crowned at the Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday night.

Jamie Herrell bested 49 other Filipina beauties for the honor of  representing the  Philippines in the Miss Earth pageant later this year. Herrell succeeds Olongapo City’s Angelee delos Reyes who placed 8th at last year’s international pageant.

Jamie becomes the second Cebuana to capture the crown.In 2008, Karla Henry won the pagaent and went on to capture the Miss Earth 2008 crown.

Other winners of the Miss Philippines Earth 2014 beauty pageant include — Miss Philippines Air 2014: Diane Carmela Querrer of Tanauan City, Miss Philippines Water 2014: Kim Covert of Dumaguete City, Miss Philippines Fire 2014: Bianca Paz of Gapan City and Miss Philippines Eco Tourism 2014 – Monique Manuel of Dinalupihan, Bataan.

Herrell also won the Best in Cultural Attire, Best in Swimsuit, and Miss Solaire 2014.

Miss Earth is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. The Miss Earth, which started in 2001, pageant is considered as among the world’s four largest beauty pageants, along with the Miss Universe, Miss World, and Miss International.
