James Gasco identified as Central Michigan University student found dead
Police have identified a graduate student who was found dead this week inside his apartment on the campus of Central Michigan University.
The body of James Gasco, age 59, was discovered inside his apartment, Central Michigan University Police confirmed.
The police said the case is under investigation and an autopsy has been requested to determine the cause of death.
“The deceased has been in there for a number of days,” CMU police lieutenant Larry Klaus said. “Due to the length of time and the condition of the body, it requires the biohazard suits.”
University officials confirmed he was a graduate student at the university and the man describes himself a photojournalist, illustrator and writer on his blog, Jamesgasco.blogspot.com, where he posted photographs and articles including the topics of Mount Pleasant and Central Michigan University.
This is the second CMU student found dead in an apartment in the past week. On September 3, Kelly Markatos, age 22, was found dead in her West Campus Drive apartment early morning.
