James Bond 24 villain news as production set to start in December

New casting for James Bond film hints as details of the villain. The fan site MI6 reported on the details and that the studio is seeking a unique character, like Jaws or Oddjob, to add to the franchise.

The villain in James Bond 24, obviously just a nickname for now, is simply described as the “main assassin” who is “extremely physically fit and over 6ft 2in” and will be between 30 and 45 years old.

“Whoever wins the role will have several altercations with Daniel Craig’s 007 throughout the film and also a driving sequence,” the MI6 article reported. “Retired sports stars will be considered – along with anybody “very unusual.”

The character has been given the working name of “Hinx,” but the fans and site notes that this may change apparently. Production dates were also dated in the coverage: “shooting starts in December and will run to June 2015 at Pinewood Studios and on location.”

Just to clarify, Jaws or Oddjob will not be in the new film, just a unique character who may play in several films.

One of the early rumors was the studio was considering bringing back Blofeld, the popular villain from previous films. While that doesn’t appear to be the case, the desire to link the current films to the classics seems like a move which would appeal to fans.

12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor was rumored to be attached to the film a villain, but that remains unconfirmed.

Daniel Craig will return for his fourth Bond film, while Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw are set to reprise their roles as his boss M, ally Moneypenny and gadget guru Q, respectively.

This film and the next one, Bond 25, are said “to build on Skyfall.” Skyfall became the largest grossing Bond film of all-time, earning over $1 billion worldwide.

Bond 24 will open in theaters on November 6, 2015.
