Ivan James, New York teen charged in father’s brutal murder
A 16-year-old Bronx boy has been charged in the brutal slaying of his father.
Ivan James Sr, age 40, was found dead this week by his daughter in a bathtub at his on Grand Concourse in University Heights, according to published reports.
He had been stabbed 10 times in the head, three times in the face and once in the neck, a police source told the New York Daily News.
Police, however, have only said that James suffered head trauma.
The body of James was discovered by James’ own sister after police had detained his son, police and a neighbor said.
Ivan James, the victim’s son, has been charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police announced early Sunday morning.
Police detained the teenager and sent him to St Joseph’s Medical Center for a psychiatric evaluation after attempting to dodge police by hiding at the mall.
Neighbors say the father and son were constantly fighting with each other since James Jr. moved in about two years ago.
