For the past few years, the liposuction procedure has proven itself to be one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures within the United States, making it to the top of the list alongside breast implants. With new patients each and every single day seeking the plastic surgery treatment, it really isn’t surprising that the plastic procedure continues to gain more and more popularity every single year. Before getting the procedure done however, most of the time, patients have spent hours researching the procedure to not only make sure it’s right for them, but that it’s one they’ll feel good and comfortable about undergoing. What is liposuction?

All in all, liposuction is simply fat being suctioned through specialized tubes that have been inserted into a patient’s body. This procedure occurs once the patient has been placed under either local or general anesthesia and is generally used as a quick way to remove excess fat from certain pre-targeted areas of the body. These areas tend to include the excess area under the chin, the midsection and the inner thighs. Because of the great new medical advances, doctors can now move and suction out more fat than ever before, which has thus helped the popularity of the procedure. This is because of the new numbing techniques that are currently being used today.

Where can you get liposuction done?

Throughout the entire country and in each and every state, you’ll find lots of different medical plastic surgery offices that offer liposuction to their patients such as Sono Bello. These offices pride themselves on offering the procedure to happy and content customers who overall, are pleased with their new and improved figure. When looking for one however, you’ll note that the options are more primarily located in big cities and large towns. Rural areas tend to not have any plastic surgeons nearby. When looking for a plastic surgeon, you’ll find that in most cases, they practice in a private medical office or share their office with another plastic surgeon or two that practices the same procedures or offers other plastic surgery options.

Is liposuction your weight loss answer?

This question requires a very strong NO answer. Unfortunately, liposuction just simply isn’t the best means for permanent and long term weight loss. What liposuction does do however is provide a fast decrease in your scale weight due to the fact that a lot of your fat has just been taken out of and removed from your body. If you are seeking for a long term weight loss solution, you’ll want to look into getting a personal trainer or a gym membership. A change in your personal eating habits will help as well. Liposuction just simply does not provide a long lasting weight loss and only a strong lifestyle change can do that. With that in mind it is important to realize that even though all of that fat as been sucked out and thrown away, you can still easily gain that fat right back in the same place if you decide to continue practicing over eating and a sedimentary lifestyle.

When thinking about going under the knife, keep in mind that you won’t be awake during the actual liposuction procedure, but you will wake up to find your body sore and in a bit of pain. This is all completely normal and part of the process, so not to worry. Our bodies are impressive and can handle quite a lot of fast change. When all is said and done, after the healing process has been completed, you’ll find yourself with a new and improved shape thanks to your liposuction procedure and doctor.
