Ireland teen, Josh Martin, praises God after becoming cancer free
A teenager from Northern Ireland has been declared cancer-free, and he is giving God the glory. The young man has endured several surgeries, chemotherapy for months and staying in the hospital much of this time.
Josh Martin credits the #prayforjosh online campaign run by his parents and the family’s church.
“[T]housands of people worldwide have joined with us as we prayed for our 14-year-old son,” said Josh’s mother.
Josh said that even though there were moments of doubt, he believed that God could and would heal him. When Josh’s parents got back from the hospital and told him the good news, he said his faith was confirmed.
“When they told me, I was very shocked, but I wasn’t really that surprised because I had faith that I would be healthy,” Josh shared. “I believed that I would get better and I had faith that I would.”
His parents shared on the #prayforjosh Facebook page that they were so excited to share the good news that Josh was cancer-free.
“[W]e are incredibly excited to let you know that Joshua’s scan results show that he has no tumours and no sign of any cancer growth!!!!! We are so thankful to everyone who has prayed for our son and we would be grateful if you could continue to pray for him. Words can’t express our joy – we are praising God today!!!!”
“I realized there is a God and he is looking after me,” Josh added.
