Interpol murder suspect Marouana Bah arrested by border patrol in Texas

U.S. Border Patrol agents assigned to the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station arrested a citizen of France illegally in the United States and wanted for murder by Interpol, Aug. 6.

Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Matthew J. Hudak said, “This arrest highlights our law enforcement collaboration, including partnerships well beyond our borders. This wanted international fugitive attempted to remain in the U.S. illegally and was stopped by the diligent work of our Border Patrol agents.”

Sierra Blanca Border Patrol agents encountered an individual by the name of Marouana Bah, a 30-year-old citizen of France, while conducting immigration inspections on board a passenger bus at the Sierra Blanca Immigration Checkpoint.

During the inspection, Bah was determined to be illegally present in the United States and in possession of a passport that did not belong to him. Additionally, Bah’s records checks revealed that he had an active Interpol warrant for murder out of France.

Bah was processed according to the applicable immigration laws. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Boston will assume lead in this investigation moving forward.

Big Bend Sector Border Patrol agents, patrol 517 miles of the southwest border, an area that extends from Sierra Blanca, Texas to Sanderson, Texas. The Sierra Blanca Station area of responsibility consists of more than half of Hudspeth County or about 2,500 square miles. The station is responsible for 73 border miles between the U.S. and Mexico. More than 10,000 vehicles travel through the Sierra Blanca checkpoint on a daily basis.
