Interdependence PR: What To Focus on When You Meet With a PR Company

If your business begins to work with a PR company it can really help you to achieve those goals and the success that you have bee looking for, assuming that you are able to secure the services of a very good PR firm. My business has found greater levels of success than we could ever have dreamed of since we started working with the guys at Interdependence PR two years ago and as such it is a company and a general service which I would strongly recommend. Much like with many outsourcing opportunities it makes sense to try and set up meetings with a number of companies who offer this service in order to get the best fit for your business. When do attend those meetings, here is what you should be looking for.

Industry Knowledge 

A public relations company is going to be speaking on your behalf to your specific niche market. It is for this reason that you absolutely need a company who perfectly understands your market. If you find a company who specialize in finance but you have a tech company then there is going to be some issues that they do not understand about your industry and what you are trying to do. You must ensure that the PR company who you are speaking to gets your industry and has experience in your marketplace. 

Shared Goals 

Something which myself and my team place heavy focus on is results and the hard work and the committed attitude towards achieving those results. This then was something which I was really looking for when I sat down with so many PR teams, with many of them not really convincing me that they were as committed to achieving these results as my team and I were. Ultimately the PR company who you work with should share your goals and they should certainly give you a sense that they are going to work tirelessly to achieve those goals with you. If this doesn’t come across in the meeting then you may have to look elsewhere for a PR firm who share the vision of success that you have. 


As a customer you need to know exactly what you are getting into when you hire a PR firm, you need to know how they are going to spend your money, what their strategy is to help you achieve your goals and they must be able to give you a detailed run down of how they see things panning out. So many companies who were met with were not able to meet this level of transparency so this is something which you have to be careful with. If they are not up front about what their plan of attack is or what they plan to do with the money that you have invested then you should probably start thinking about looking for a company which can deliver that level of transparency which you need.
