Indian man suffers severe headaches while watching porn
A severe, throbbing headache…not exactly the sensation you’d expect from watching pornography, but for one software engineer in India, that was exactly the outcome.
Everytime the 24-year-old bachelor from India would sit down to enjoy some X-rated entertainment, he’d get a headache so severe that he had to stop.
This situation has been tormenting him for two years.
In a Letter to the Editor in the journal, Archives of Sexual Behavior, it describes the case of an unnamed man , who experiences “severe, exploding” headaches that develop gradually and peak about 10 minutes into a sex scene.
According to researchers from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University in New Delhi, the man had to stop watching because the pain was so intense.
Researchers found that oddly, sex or masturbation didn’t trigger the headaches – just the porn.
According to an MSNBC report
“…the researchers who treated the man in India suggested his case was caused by changes in the pain-sensing nerves in the face and jaw, along with increased pain sensitivity due to “a heightened emotional state associated with viewing pornography.”
Dr. Amy Gelfand, a neurologist at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine said, primary sex headaches strike 1 percent of the population at some point in life, and are more common in men, Gelfand said. About half of people who have them also have migraines, but it’s not known whether having migraines raises the likelihood of having sex headaches, or vice versa – or whether other untold factors are behind both.
