Illinois: Missing man, Paresh Jhobalia, found stabbed to death in the trunk of his car
Authorities in Lyons, Illinois discovered a missing man, Paresh Jhobalia, stabbed to death in the trunk of his Honda parked near his home at 44th and Prescott Avenue.
Jhobalia, 62, was last seen in Downers Grove on November 10. He was reported missing by family members.
Police obtained a warrant to search the car which was parked near Jhobalia’s home in Lyons. Inside, officers found Jhobalia’s body and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that he died of “multiple sharp force injuries” and ruled his death a homicide.
Lyons Police Chief James Keating said the case is being treated as a homicide but declined at this time to provide any additional information.
“We’re working with MCAT at this time to go through all of the evidence and we cannot make any additional comments at this time,” Keating said.
MCAT is the Major Case Assistance Team.
Keating confirmed that Paresh did not have any children and lived alone.
Sunday night, police did not release information about a possible motive or whether a suspect was in custody.
Lyons Police officials had asked members of the public this week to assist in helping to locate the missing individual.
Police said that they are urging anyone who knows anything about the missing man and the incident to contact the Lyons Police Department at 708-447-1225.
