Hurricane Irma: Ramon Santiago’s kindness, generosity to Pam Brekke goes viral, watch the video
Certainly the horror stories and bad behavior of residents preparing or evacuating ahead of the Hurricane Irma strike in Florida are making news, but a “feel good” story should remind us all how kindness and compassion is much more important than the material items.
Pam Brekke searched Orlando stores for a generator to help her father only to find empty shelves.
“My father’s on oxygen, and I’m worried about this storm,” she told WFTV.
One fellow customer, taking the last one, Ramon Santiago shocked everyone when he surrender the unit. Here’s the account as it went viral on Facebook:
“THIS IS CENTRAL FLORIDA:
Pam Brekke’s father is on oxygen. She ran into Lowe’s and we watched her breakdown in tears when she realized she had just missed the last generator. A total stranger, Ramon Santiago, saw her too. He walked up and insisted she take his.
This was her reaction.
Writing this through tears and with a heart full of pride for my community.” ❤️

“He’s an angel from God is what he is,” Brekke said.
“She needed the generator. It’s okay. No worry for them,” Santiago said.
Santiago couldn’t say much to Brekke because of a language barrier, but that didn’t stop him from helping someone in need. The simple act brought Brekke to tears again, but for a different reason.
“I’m very overwhelmed by that man. He’s helping our family,” Brekke said.
