Hugh Jackman teases the first look at ‘Wolverine 3’ as filming has wrapped and he’s ‘very excited’
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight about the 95th anniversary of Hollywood’s Night Under the Stars, Hugh Jackman teased that fans will get the first look at Wolverine 3 in the coming weeks.
Jackman revealed filming has wrapped and that director James Mangold and his team are busy editing the movie.
“We finished shooting. I just saw James Mangold today, he’s editing away and finishing that. I’m very, very excited about it,” Jackman began.
“There’s going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so, that’s all I’ll say. I’m really trying – I’m not good, I’m the kind of person who tells everybody everything. Basically, it’s going to be very different. Very different in tone and hopefully, very different from anything that we’ve done.”
Patrick Stewart will reprise his role as Professor X in this new Wolverine film, has said fans should expect a “very different” Charles Xavier in the film. The villain Mr. Sinister is rumored to be in the film, as is the character X-23, and the film is expected to be rated R.
From Simon Kinberg on the film: “I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about that. I will agree with you that Patrick Stewart was rumored to be a part of that film. It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film.”
Both of these factors continue to point to the long running rumor that the story will be derivation of Old Man Logan, one the fans are clamoring for.
The new film also stars Boyd Holbrook, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
Wolverine 3 will be released on March 3, 2017.
