Hugh Jackman talks Famke Janssen, Jean Grey cameo in ‘The Wolverine’ and Viper
With the first trailer dropping earlier in the week, excitement surrounding The Wolverine is reaching fever pitch. Now Hugh Jackman stokes the flames by mentioning Jean Grey’s involvement while talking with MTV in an interview.
Following the events of X-Men: The Last Stand in which Jean Grey was overtaken by The Phoenix.

“There’s no doubt that the most important relationship in his life is — we’ve seen through the movies — is his relationship with Jean Grey. Yes, we saw her die at the end of ‘X-Men: The Last Stand,’ but in this movie, she has a presence, which I think is vital to the movie, particularly for him confronting the most difficult thing within himself.”
While that sounds as though Famke Janssen will be making an appearance (as glimpsed in the trailer), if only in flashback, it doesn’t really confirm much more than a fleeting appearance.
One female who will be key in the new film is Vipder.
“Viper is a badass, for someone who plays Wolverine, who is pretty badass. … She’s not your girl next door. You’re going to end up kind of loving every minute she has on screen.”
