Severe back pain has numerous causes including:

  • Sciatica
  • Osteoporosis
  • Herniated disc
  • Piriformis syndrome
  • Nerve impingement
  • Spinal stenosis
  • Degenerative disc disease

The list sounds scary, right?

That’s’ not all; there are back pains that might end up requiring back surgery, lifelong prescribed medications and extensive therapy and many more.
But do you know just through exercise and stretching you can get quick and permanent relief to severe back pain?

Sometimes we experience discomfort in our backs because of an injury from our daily hassles such as a sprain or a fracture to the alignment connected to the spine.

This article focuses on discussing in-depth tips for back pain relief.

  1. Meditation and Yoga

Another common cause for many us experiencing severe back pain is because of stress and tension. Biologically, the brain and the central nervous system are linked to the spinal column. Whenever you suffer from emotional distress, can result in severe and unbearable pain. In such a case, use of meditation and yoga can help offer a remedy.

  1. Massage

If the cause of your back pain is tension, the best solution is to go for a massage session. You can look for the help of a professional massage therapist or alternatively you can opt to use many massaging wands available in the market. These apparatuses help to relax sore and tense muscles. Some equipment is incorporated with infrared light, which helps to relieve tension in muscles.

  1. Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a Chinese based treatment that’s is a certified remedy for many aches, not only back pains. If you are not familiar with the Chinese acupuncture, you can apply the shiatsu from the Japanese origin. The shiatsu method is a great one because it opens all the energy pathways hence relieving all tensions.

  1. Stretching Exercise

Do you know that not all back pains need medical attention? A series of stretching exercise can help relieve severe back pain. You might be fooled that when you’re experiencing severe back pain, it will be detrimental to practice back stretching exercise but believe you me, it works wonders.

The method works because as the muscles commence to heal, they tighten up as well. If there are tightness and stiffness in the muscles, it means any movement can result in extreme pain. Therefore, the best way to bring relief to your back when under severe pain is to do some stretching. Through stretching and conditioning, the risk of muscles and ligaments tearing is minimized.

The patient will realize that after a session of performing some stretching muscle exercise, the patient will begin feeling much well. The patient will also realize that after the exercise, he will be able to do some movements. The back-stretching exercise reduces stiffness from the back caused by anxiety and stress.

  1. Medication

Lastly, taking medication such as pain-relieving pills also help relieve some temporary severe back pains. Going for pain medication should be considered the last option because it’s expensive, can involve side effects, the pills only fight the symptoms, and it’s just a temporary method of reducing severe back pain.

You don’t need to go potent pills when a simple medicine like aspirin can work effectively. Muscle relaxers such as the narcotics are addictive and avoid them altogether.
