‘Homeland’ season 4 preview: Filming in South Africa, Claire Danes insight and the real ‘hot spot’
Showtime’s award-winning drama Homeland returns in October and a new featurette takes fans behind-the-scenes as star Claire Danes talks about the fourth sesaon, filming in Washington D.C., Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Variety first reported first look behind the scenes at production of Homeland while filming in South Africa, which serves as the shooting location for Washington D.C., Islamabad and Kabul this year.
In the video, Danes begins by discussing the “reimagining” of the show and how the writers met with the CIA to better understand “what is the real hot spot.”
Joined by co-star Mandy Patinkin, Executive Producers Lesli Linka Glatter and Michael Klick, Danes et al discuss the challenges, making the show authentic and working in South Africa. The production value and attention to detail is truly interesting and impressive.
The show returns with a full two hours as Damian Lewis (Brody) is gone and a new era begins for the popular show. Danes and Patinkin are joined by Rupert Friend, Corey Stoll, Laila Robins, Suraj Sharma, Nazanin Boniadi , Raza Jaffrey and Numan Acar.
Homeland‘s fourth season premieres Oct. 5 at 9 p.m. on Showtime.
