Hillary Clinton’s Swimsuit Mural Stirs up a Massive Controversy

It is unknown what the United States is prepping up for, but it seems that some flames have even traveled far back into the southern hemisphere. Recently, a revealing mural of Hillary Clinton, one of the presidential nominees in the US, created a massive controversy and might just be taken down. The painting depicts her in a rather skimpy outfit— studded with stripes and stars, synonymous to the US flag.

The mural creator, Lushux is more of a street artist— well-known for paining the likes of Kim Kardashian and even Donald Trump. However, he was deeply offended by the criticism gathered by the mural and considers the decision of removal as “pathetic”.

This mural resides on the wall of a small startup in Melbourne— precisely located in the suburb of ‘Footscray’. According to reports, the concerned business or authority has been summoned by the Maribyrnong council and asked to remove the same. Reason for this outrage might be a derogatory representation of a less-clothed woman and not because it concerns Hillary Clinton. The following statement was released by Stephen Wall, Chief Executive, Maribyrnong Council. He justifies the grievance against the paining on the grounds of the ‘Graffiti Prevention Act’, 2007.

While many residents have already circulated the mural over various social media platforms, few have criticized the removal of the same via their WhatsApp status and even Facebook posts.  However, the council is still apprehensive regarding the removal of this painting and has asked the local policemen to offer insights and opinions towards the same. That said, the concerned building might be issued a notice for taking it down within 10 days— at the maximum.

Lushux did have a lot to say on this matter and in his candid conversation with Melbourne radio, he seemed rather concerned about his Instagram account which was removed immediately after the raunchy depiction of Hillary Clinton was put up. He already had around 110,000 followers on his official account and losing this social media identity means a huge loss to him and his credentials.

However, on being asked whether he would shy away from creating controversial murals— Lushux showed no signs of getting bogged down by the criticisms. Presumably, he will be continuing with his innovative and stirring ways while creating a similar paining of Donald Trump in the near future.

Seeing the attention Trump is gathering in the US, the portrayal might just create a bigger outrage than the ongoing one.
