Hillary Clinton pulling away from Bernie Sanders in latest poll

The Democratic presidential race appears to be quickly resolving itself, just six weeks out from the first primary in Iowa, as Hillary Clinton now leads Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders by over 30 points, according to a new Quinnipiac poll.

Clinton tops Sanders 61 – 30 percent with former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley at 2 percent, with 6 percent undecided and 41 percent who might change their mind.

If Clinton is elected, 33 percent of all voters would be proud and 35 percent would be embarrassed. “Half of American voters say they’d be embarrassed to have Donald Trump as their Commander in Chief and most Americans think he doesn’t have a good chance in November, but there he is still at the top of the Republican heap,” said Tim Malloy, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll. “Hillary Clinton tops him. Sen. Bernie Sanders hammers him and Sen. Ted Cruz is snapping at his heels. Can a candidate that half the American electorate thinks is an embarrassment win in November?”

American voters back Clinton over Trump 47 – 40 percent.

From December 16 – 20, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,140 registered voters nationwide with a margin of error of +/- 2.9 percentage points. Live interviewers call land lines and cell phones. The survey includes 508 Republicans with a margin of error of +/- 4.4 percentage points and 462 Democrats with a margin of error of +/- 4.6 percentage points.

Rasmussen also released a poll showing Clinton at 46 with Sanders trailing at 30%.

what the media fails to report, is that right now, at this very moment, millions of 20 year old computer geniuses are making sure, Bernie and his words of wisdom are getting out to the public, and therefore by may , he will be the person to beat

  2. MartinKIl says:

Pulling away ? the last poll by Quinnipiac had that at 60 and 30. She’s gone up 1 (61 30) – basically the same as last time – which is fine for Clinton – but pulling away … pleaseeeeeee

  4. nate says:

Go figure, no mention how Bernie wins against Rep in head to head match ups does better than Hillary. By two times as much against Trump

    • Brandon Jones says:

(see other comment) The only “head-to-head” match-ups are in primaries. Democrats and Republicans will cave in the general election to vote for their candidate, so the polling never shows anything helpful

  5. Brian says:

Yes, but what was Bernie’s lead over trump? That’s conveniently missing from this “story.”

    • Brandon Jones says:

It’s not missing, because we are focusing ONLY on the primaries. Over time the “head-to-head” data is NEVER valid. Neither Bernie NOR Trump has won anything yet.

      • JohnYour Name... says:

From your article, which you say is only about the primaries:

“American voters back Clinton over Trump 47 – 40 percent.”

Keeping the truth in the headlines… yeah sure buddy.

        • Brandon Jones says:

Sanders vs anyone doesn’t matter when he’s 30 points behind in the primary. Did we add a bit of fluff on that? Sure, but only to Hillary’s numbers. We’ve covered how well Bernie is doing in NH.

  6. sean says:

…while a brand new Rasmussen poll, which is actually the most recent, has it 46-30 Clinton. Go Bernie!!!!
