An 18-year-old man and his older friend went on a tire-slashing rampage after the younger vandal discovered his girlfriend had herpes.
According to a report by Joe Petrie with the Mount Pleasant Patch, Gavin James Paul Chalmers, 18, of Brookfield, and Jeffrey C. Jones, 31, of Racine, were charged in Racine County Circuit Court Friday, June 29, with one count of felony criminal damage to property of >$1,000. According to the criminal complaint:
At 10:43 p.m. Tuesday, Mount Pleasant police officers were called to the 5500 block of Washington Avenue where they found three cars in the Advanced Auto Parts parking lot with flat tires. A waitress at a nearby Denny’s said she saw two men pop the tires and walk westbound on Highway 20.
Officers were then called to Porcaro Ford where they found 17 more vehicles with slashed tires and one vehicle with popped tires at Porcaro Mitsubishi. Officers then found Chalmers and Jones in front of Golden Keys Restaurant and a knife in nearby grass.
In total, 31 tires were slashed at a value of $150 each.
The Five Guys burger artist and his older friend are currently being held in the Racine County Jail on $500 cash bond.
