Supporters may attempt to call it a Freudian slip, but Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s ‘anti-gun’ comment appears to be fodder for endless criticism since he was reading a prepared statement.

The Senator was hit almost immediately by tweets from Texas Republican Ted Cruz.
“On the anti-gun legislation before the Senate, we are making good progress on the effort to schedule a series of votes on amendments to the anti-gun-violence legislation before the Senate,” he said on the floor of the chamber Tuesday.
Cruz poked fun at Reid, Nevada Democrat, suggesting that Mr. Reid’s slip of the tongue may have revealed his true feelings.
“Freudian slip? Sen. Harry Reid calls bill ‘anti-gun legislation,’” Senator Cruz tweeted.
A cloture vote on the background-check compromise proposed by Sens. Patrick J. Toomey, Pennsylvania Republican, and Joe Manchin III, West Virginia Democrat, could come as early as Thursday, National Review reports.
