‘Guardians of the Galaxy 2’ trailer, photos and a few details
Marvel’s intergalactic motley crew are back as fans get their first look at Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Check out all the action in the sneak peek below giving all of the characters a quick shot or two.
Taking center stage is Peter Quill a.k.a Star Lord (Chris Pratt) with the team returning: Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Groot (Vin Diesel), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) and Rocket Racoon (Bradley Cooper) are all confirmed to appear.
Karen Gillan (Nebula) is back, but Josh Brolin’s Thanos will not be reappearing for now.
They will be joined by newcomers Chris Sullivan, Elizabeth Debicki, and Pom Klementieff.
One of the biggest to join the cast is Kurt Russell, who will play as the Star Lord’s father. Russell is will play as Ego. Russell has described the story, stating the film is about “finding out who you are, where you come from, and where you’re going.”
“More connected to human issues, family issues, parental issues, and issues that sons and daughters have with their moms and dads and their family tree, where they come from,” Russell said.
Writer/Director James Gunn has posted on Twitter concept artwork that confirms the Guardians will be facing the Abilisk, an octopus-like monster, at some point, check out that pic below.
Note that Rocket Racoon, who’s seen with Tiny Groot at the end of the teaser trailer, isn’t paired up with the other Guardians in this teaser; he’s hanging out with the Ravager leader, Yondu (Michael Rooker).
