‘Goosebumps Slappy Halloween’ adds ‘Stranger Things’ actor Peyton Wich
Stranger Things and Mr. Mercedes actor Peyton Wich has been cast in Sony’s Goosebumps 2, joining Wendi McLendon-Covey, Ken Jeong, Chris Parnell, Madison Iseman, Ben O’Brien, Caleel Harris, and Jeremy Ray Taylor.
R.L. Stine himself tweeted the official title after it was rumored to be called Goosebumps: Slappy’s Revenge.
The original Goosebumps 2015 film starred Jack Black as a fictional version of Stine, as well as the voice of Slappy, the evil puppet. The new sequel is rumored to follow the story of the book Slappy’s Revenge, with Black rumored to return. Some reports call into question Black’s participation, but voicing Slappy is nearly certain, with a small cameo likely.
Director Ari Sandel is developing this latest chapter in the series, based on a script by Rob Lieber. Sandel won for Best Short Film in 2007 with West Bank Story. Neal H. Moritz is producing through his Original Film banner with Deborah Forte of Scholastic Entertainment.
Goosebumps: Slappy’s Revenge is set to arrive in theaters October 12, 2018.
