‘Good Luck Charlie’ may be ending, but not before introducing a lesbian couple, Miley Cyrus approves

In a first for the Disney Channel, next season an episode of Good Luck Charlie will feature a family with two moms.

Good Luck Charlie cast photoDisney’s announcement comes as the show wraps and involves Charlie, the toddler, going on a play date and the parents learning the couple is same-sex couple.

Now the former Hannah Montana actress Miley Cyrus has tweeted her approval of the decision.

@evanrachelwood @afterellen is this true?!?!?! ❤❤❤❤ I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation. – Cyrus tweeted.

Some may not be familiar with the former Disney star’s fall from innocence with a profanity filled twitter page or her vocal stances on gay marriage – hardly the wholesome role model she was marketed as during her Disney years.

Disney has usually stays away from the controversial topics, but Good Luck Charlie is ending, concluding in early 2014, so a backlash would hardly impair the show’s ratings.

TV Guide details the announcement saying that the episode will air in early 2014, they are currently casting the roles and details the story below:

In the storyline, parents Amy and Bob Duncan (Leigh-Allyn Baker and Eric Allan Kramer) set up a playdate for preschooler Charlie (Mia Talerico) and one of her new friends. When the kid arrives, the Duncans learn that Charlie’s pal has two moms. That’s fine, but the potential new friendship is put to the test as one mom chats with Amy, and the other is stuck listening to Bob’s dull stories.

The playdate is actually the secondary story in the episode, as much of the action will center on Teddy (Bridgit Mendler) and her best friend Ivy, as Ivy prepares to head off to college.

I LOVE THE SONG, “It Could Have Been Me,” BY Billy Ray Cyrus – AND, ITS DISC IS OFTEN IN MY CD PLAYER-TRAY.

PEOPLE WHO PERFORM AND/OR LIKE COUNTRY MUSIC ARE SUPPOSED TO LIVE WHOLESOME LIVES. FOR MOST COUNTRY FANS, “Achy Breaky Heart” IS Mr. Cyrus’ only hit. MAYBE, Mr. Cyrus IS A “ONE-HIT WONDER” BECAUSE HE FORGOT A CRUCIAL PART OF BEING WHOLESOME IS WHOLESOME PARENTING – IT IS A SAD DAY FOR WHOLESOME PARENTING WHEN AN ICON OF WHOLESOME MUSIC [COUNTRY MUSIC] PRODUCES A CHILD WHO CONSIDERS SAME-SEX MARRIAGE AND HOMOSEXUAL CHILD-REARING TO BE OKAY.
