‘Godzilla King of the Monsters’ casts ‘Walking Dead’ star Elizabeth Ludlow
As production begins for Godzilla: King Of The Monsters, the Legendary Pictures sequel to the 2014 reboot of the franchise, Deadline reports that Walking Dead alum Elizabeth Ludlow will join the upcoming film in an undisclosed role.
Ludlow, who plays one of the Negan-led Survivors on The Walking Dead named Arat, joins a cast which will have Sally Hawkins (Dr. Vivienne Graham) and Ken Watanabe (Dr. Ishiro Serizawa) back as crypto-zoological agency Monarch scientists.
New cast members include Millie Bobby Brown of Stranger Things, Kyle Chandler, Vera Farmiga, Bradley Whitford, O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Zhang Ziyi. Aisha Hinds (Star Trek Into Darkness), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Thomas Middleditch (Silicon Valley) and Randy Havens (Stranger Things) also have roles.
Here is the film’s synopsis: “The new story follows the heroic efforts of the crypto-zoological agency Monarch as its members face off against a battery of god-sized monsters, including the mighty Godzilla, who collides with Mothra, Rodan, and his ultimate nemesis, the three-headed King Ghidorah. When these ancient super-species—thought to be mere myths – rise again, they all vie for supremacy, leaving humanity’s very existence hanging in the balance.”
The official announcement confirms that Godzilla will do battle with iconic foes Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah, which links directly with this year’s Kong: Skull Island.
Godzilla: King of the Monsters is set for release on March 22nd, 2019
