‘Gangster Squad’ star Anthony Mackie says Falcon in ‘Captain America The Winter Soldier’
While promoting “Gangster Squad,” actor Anthony Mackie discussed his role as Falcon in “Captain America: Winter Soldier.”
Talking with MTV in an interview released Thursday, the “Real Steel” actor talked about being excited.
“I have read a script, and it’s really good. It’s fun,” he said, adding that he begins shooting “Captain America” in April.
“The Russo brothers have been really good about keeping me informed of their visions and ideas for what they want the movie to be,” he added. “It seems like it’s going to work on all accords, so I’m just excited about it.”
Mackie is extremely excited about his costume and “it’s pretty awesome. I look like a bad mother-what. It’s pretty cool.”
Mackie was tight-lipped on the specifics, but he did say that Marvel Studios always keeps its collective eye on how to implement actors in the long game.
“They’re very specific about how they utilize talent from movie to movie,” he said. “They have a long ranging scope on what they want the Marvel franchise to be. They’re real smart about it. Nothing happens by happenstance with them.”
