Gal Gadot attacked for pro-Israel tweet shortly after Wonder Woman photo from SDCC 2014
Israeli model and actress Gal Gadot received a huge boost this weekend as attendees of San Diego Comic-Con received their first glimpse of Gadot in character as Wonder Woman in 2016’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Less than a full week later, many fans are turning on Gadot after she made a pro-Israel tweet.
Gadot posted the message “Shabbat Shalom Israel” to Twitter, along with an accompanying photo and a message on Facebook.
From Facebook:
I am sending my love and prayers to my fellow Israeli citizens. Especially to all the boys and girls who are risking their lives protecting my country against the horrific acts conducted by Hamas, who are hiding like cowards behind women and children…We shall overcome!!! Shabbat Shalom!

It didn’t take long for the hate tweets to emerge (via Twitchy)
@GalGadot You support the israelis who have weapons against Palestinians who don’t even have enough to defend themselves. Rot.— BHoran (@HoranFrenchies) July 28, 2014
@GalGadot I’m a big fan of Superman movies. But, I will never see movies that actors/actresses support slaughters. The actress is YOU! – @TEUS_me
don’t forget that ppl don’t wanna watch gal gadot play wonder woman because she’s supporting violence against palestine f**k ur yt femimism— steph (@bioticapostate) July 28, 2014
New #WonderWoman@GalGadot #Gaza ethnic cleansing #p2#uniteblue Don’t go watch her movie — sorry @BenAffleck — @MLKMinn
Most of the profanity in the tweets aren’t worth publishing are way more hateful than a woman who is praying for those in her home country.
