‘Frozen’ star Josh Gad joins ‘Beauty and the Beast’ film with Kevin Kline, films in May
Disney will continue to produce live-action versions of their classic films, Dumbo with Tim Burton, and the hit Beauty and the Beast is set to film in May as the cast continues to shape up.
Among that newly added are Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle’s father and Josh Gad as Le Fou, a great voice choice for the Frozen alum who brought Olaf to life.
“We’re starting to shoot Beauty and the Beast for Disney and Allegiant on the same day, May 18th. Beauty and the Beast we’re wildly excited about. That’s shooting in London. We’ve got Emma Watson, we’ve got Bill Condon directing, and Stephen Chbosky wrote our script. It’s really fun, and we couldn’t be happier about that. And we have Allegiant,” said producer Todd Lieberman to Collider about the film.
Emma Thompson is also on board as Mrs. Potts, Luke Evans as the villain Gaston and Dan Stevens playing Beast. Bill Condon (Mr Holmes, The Fifth Estate and the Twilight: Breaking Dawn films).
The 1991 classic followed: “Belle is a girl who is dissatisfied with life in a small provincial French town, constantly trying to fend off the misplaced “affections” of conceited Gaston. The Beast is a prince who was placed under a spell because he could not love. A wrong turn taken by Maurice, Belle’s father, causes the two to meet.” (IMDB)
The new Beauty and the Beast film is set to arrive in theaters March 17, 2017.
