Franz Drameh added to cast of ‘Flash/Arrow’ Atom spinoff
The CW’s untitled Arrow and The Flash spinoff has a new cast member with British actor Franz Drameh, joining an extensive cast, led by Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, aka The Atom.
Drameh will be playing Jay Jackson, a former high school athlete whose pro career was derailed by injury and now works as an auto mechanic. “Jay will come to have a surprising affiliation to the S.T.A.R. Labs crew,” according to the report by Variety.
“Drameh has appeared in Attack the Block, Edge of Tomorrow and Hereafter, and will next star in A Hundred Streets alongside Idris Elba and Gemma Arterton,” the article summarized.
Co-starrring with Routh is Caity Lotz The Flash’s Victor Garber, returning as Dr. Martin Stein; Wentworth Miller as villain Leonard Snart/Captain Cold; and Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave/Mick Rory. Other additions to the spinoff include Ciara Renée as Kendra Saunders, aka Hawkgirl, and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter.
The spinoff is exec produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg, Marc Guggenheim and Sarah Schechter.
Likely titled The Atom, Routh’s character just adds to the growing TV universe based on the popular DC Comics gallery of characters.
