Fox picks up ‘Almost Human,’ the JJ Abrams sci-fi drama starring Karl Urban
Almost Human has been picked up by Fox, the show’s co-creator Joel Wyman confirmed May 9 on his Twitter page that the show has been given a series order ahead of next week’s debut.

Star Trek Into Darkness actor Karl Urban stars in Almost Human as John Kennex, an emotionally reticent human detective whose beat partner is an android (FlashForward‘s Michael Ealy).
Here the police drama set 35 years in the future, “when police officers are partnered with highly evolved human-like androids.”
Minka Kelly, Lili Taylor and Mackenzie Crook also star in the futuristic drama, which is co-created by JJ Abrams (Star Wars Episode VII, Fringe, Revolution).
Wyman told Digital Spy earlier this year that Human will explore themes of “humanity vs technology”.
