Fox orders ‘Sleepy Hollow’ by ‘Star Trek Into Darkness’ writers, starring Tom Mison as Icabod Crane
From Fringe executive producers Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, comes a modern-day retelling of Icabod Crane, the classic tale by Washington Irving. Fox confirmed in a May 9 press release that the pilot will be picked up.
Director Len Wiseman (Total Recall, Underworld)has also been commissioned to the show which stars Tom Mison as Icabod Crane, who is ” time-traveling two and a half centuries and teaming with a police officer to save humanity.”
Crane is partnered with the “local female sheriff to solve the mysteries of a town ravaged by the battle between good and evil.”
Kurtzman and Orci will write the script with Phillip Iscove, on whose idea the project is based. Iscove is an up-and-coming writer who has been an assistant at UTA for the past five years and has had a script on the Black List.
Kurtzman has a relationship with Wiseman and reached out to him to direct.
Nicole Beharie and Orlando Jones also star.

SLEEPY HOLLOW is from K/O Paper Products in association with 20th Century Fox Television. The series is co-created by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, Phillip Iscove and Len Wiseman (“Hawaii Five-0,” “Underworld” and “Total Recall”). The series is executive-produced by Kurtzman, Orci and Wiseman and Heather Kadin. Iscove serves as supervising producer. Wiseman directed the pilot.
