Former ‘The Walking Dead’ creator Glen Mazzara to writer ‘The Shining’ prequel called ‘The Overlook Hotel’
Former director on the hit series The Walking Dead, Glen Mazzara, has been hired by Warner Bros to write a prequel to The Shining.

Glen Mazzara on the set of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ will not write the prequel to ‘The Shining’
Deadline reports that the prequel to the Stanley Kubrick-directed The Shining, based on the Stephen King novel will be produced by Mythology Entertainment’s Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis.
Mazzara followed Shawshank Redemption director Frank Darabont on The Walking Dead and was key in the show’s amazing success.
King has been vocal about the Kubrick movie, not caring for the final product, but there are so many iconic images in that movie, and an amazing performance by Jack Nicholson, that this will be a tough act to follow.
King completed Doctor Sleep, a sequel to his The Shining novel that focuses on an adult Danny Torrance (the Redrum kid).
