“Basically they removed the tools to read. They are no longer teaching spelling, grammar, punctuation, cursive writing and literature. Therefore…if you expect someone to be able to read and you take away their tools, how do you expect them to be able to read, which is why we have the reading problems that we have today.”
Schoen continues, pointing to the “Information Reading” requirements in the curriculum and the move away from classics and poetry.
“That’s training. We train our pets, we don’t train people,” alluding to the “training for work” shift in focus and the management of the “human capital.”
Common Core is invasive and in many cases replaces state oversight and teacher direction with federal authority, violating the constitutional division of power, asserts the frustrated former teacher.
“Math is factual, so if you are training the human capital that there are no facts, then you really don’t them to learn math,” Schoen says to address the ‘3×4 =11’ story on Common Core from August.
Schoen’s exhibits her in-depth knowledge of Common Core’s evolution and long history through name changes and multiple financial supporters.
Schoen is a former teacher, now political activist speaking out regularly on the facts about Common Core, Agenda 21 (agenda21today.com) and many other topics featured on Save America Foundation, Americaismyname.org and others.
