Florida teen Alyssa Hatcher stole parents money to hire people to kill them
A Lake County Florida teenager, Alyssa Hatcher, was arrested stealing money from her parents and then tried to hire two different people to kill them in a bizarre murder for hire scheme.
Hatcher, 17, paid another Umatilla High School “a lot of money” to kill her parents, according to a Lake County Sheriff’s school resource officer.
The girl reportedly stole her parents debit card, withdrew $500 in cash to hire the would be assassins, a fact confirmed by her boyfriend, who told investigators that he’d seen Hatcher Monday morning and she told him that she wanted to kill her parents.
Officials confirmed that Hatcher confessed that she’d paid one person $400 to kill her parents and then gave another person $926.40 via Paypal, because the first person she paid did not carry the act out.
Investigators said she used $100 to buy cocaine before spending the rest on the murder-for-hire plot.
Police said Hatcher’s mother discovered that her debit card was missing from her locked wallet inside her home. She later found it and a piece of paper with her bank account information written on it in her daughter’s room.
Sgt. Fred Jones said so far the girl’s exact motive is unclear.
“The parents are good people, outstanding citizens. This was just somebody who for whatever reason just didn’t want her parents around,” Jones said.
Deputies said the Hatcher is being charged with two counts of criminal solicitation of murder.
