Florida Senate Race: Rick Scott now tied with Bill Nelson in heated race
New polls continue to show a tight race between Democrat incumbent Bill Nelson and Florida Gov. Rick Scott for the U.S. Senate seat.
Chris Hudson from Americans for Prosperity Action sm (AFP-Action) spoke with Brandon Jones on Dispatch Radio to discuss the race, a backlash against Nelson’s track record, Scott’s strategy and message to voters.
The Florida Southern College poll shows Scott up 1.5%, 46-44% with the recent polls show Nelson up 1-1.7%.
Hudson discusses the tie, the lack of impact from the debate and how national politics, the Brett Kavanaugh hearing for example, factor into the race.
“While polls released over the past several weeks have shown Nelson to have a slight lead in this race, ours is showing Scott making headway and gaining a marginal advantage,” Zachary Baumann, a professor of political science at the school and the center’s director. said.
Hudson confirms how tight this race feels.
