Florida man, Jeremy Pittman, arrested for murdering Robert Hucks when body found in Georgia
A Florida man, who works for the post office, is being charged with the murder of a Jacksonville man after the body was found in Georgia.
Jeremy Christian Pittman, age 34, is currently being held in the Duval County Jail charged in connection to the death of 20-year-old Robert Glenn Hucks, a man who had been missing since January 17.
Newly appointed Chief of Investigations Adam Brown with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the development in the case during a news conference on Friday morning.
“Decisions were made investigatively not to release that because we thought it might compromise the investigation,” said Chief of Investigations Adam Brown.
Brown says there was no indication of foul play when Robert Hucks’ mother filed the missing persons report January 18 or when they did a welfare check on his home, though he wasn’t there at the time.
“You don’t want to follow one cookie-cutter response to every missing persons report,” said Brown.
Hucks was last seen on January 16 leaving Metro Night Club in Riverside with Pittman. Hunters found his body last night in Camden County, Georgia and called police.
Pittman has confessed to the crime and Brown says he is cooperating with detectives.
